    Made a reservation through Orbitz, but found a lower rate on the same Hotel's web site for the same day. Asked their customer service and they said they would "review" the price. This was only to delay my cancelling as the reviewer said it didn't qualify after we got back. If you read their guarantee closely, he's correct.   • Orbitz Cancellation Policy


     
    This review has been resolved or replied to by this company. I discover that Orbitz as a third party booking entity does not forward contact information to the primary service provider. Therefore the primary service provider cannot contact a customer to query "no show" on a reservation. Because of this, there is no cancellation support, but only cancellation penalty. I requested a cancellation of my hotel and flight reservation by speaking to an Orbitz customer associate on the phone. I was informed that my flight ticket was nonrefundable and would receive American Airlines credit for a future reservation.  My hotel reservation would receive a full refund.  I accepted this condition and continued with cancellation.   • Orbitz Does Not Honor Posted Low Price Guarantee


     
    I booked a car on Orbitz after searching several travel websites. The day before I left, Priceline sent me a 'last chance' offer listing the same car rental firm at a lower price.     I tried to book international tickets through orbitz.com. I did not get any confirmation page or confirmation email but the amount of 3295 was deducted from my Debit card. Later I found that the reservation was not made. I was not informed through email or phone that the reservation was not done. Now they say that it would take 3-5 business days to get the amount back.   • Dissatisfied customers - Orbitz


     
    Our "confirmed" flight and "confirmed" seats through Orbitz were a joke. Our seats were changed on one flight, and we were bumped from another flight. We had to fly to another city and pay $108 to a shuttle service (which we had to find on our own), or wait until the next day to (maybe) fly home.     Booked cruise with Orbitz in January. Had to cancel the cruise due to pregnancy in March. Low and behold they charge you $75 to cancel the reservation. And then tell you that you have to file a claim to try and get your $75. Wow I think that is a little steep to push some buttons.     I searched for discounted rates and found a site that compared 4 different online discount companies. During the search Orbitz provided the cheapest rate for 8 people staying at the Great Wolf Lodge Mason Ohio. The rate for them was $290 vs. $330 on the other 3 sites. When I clicked the room to start the booking process it automatically went up to $330.   • Canceled our tickets to France


     
    Booked two tickets on March 6,2012 through Orbitz on British Airway to Paris (CDG) leaving April 9,2012 from EWR and returning April 17,2012. Last night(March 28) at 10PM Orbitz called and said British Airways had canceled the flights and Orbitz would refund the charges. This was a LIE.   • Orbitz does a half assed job!


     
    I just got back from my vacation to Ft Lauderdale. On January 31st, I booked my trip through Orbitz (hotel, air and rental car. When I arrived at the hotel on March 15th, I was told that Orbitz did not bother contacting the hotel to reserve a room for me. They had a month and 1/2 to reserve the room but couldn't be bothered to make the reservation.     I was very very disappointed with Orbitz. Not only was it a hassle and half to make a few changes to my travel when i had to move my travel plans but once i got to spain... I was checking in the night before to go to London and it wouldn't let me. It was a good thing I checked in online before because I learned that they put me on Spanish Air and SPanish Air went out of business 5 days before and i had no idea.   • Watch out for the ground transporation activities!


     
    I recently booked a trip with Orbitz that included air, hotel and ground transportation from airport to hotel and hotel to airport. Well, when you book the ground transportation, there are no options to choose where the shuttle takes you for your hotel. I assumed, like I guess many people do, that it actually takes you to the hotel you just booked on the exact same itinerary. Not so!     Customer service was terrible!!!!! One very rude and ignorant rep could not even answer BASIC questions and then called me six times after we hung up harassing me! The next sales person said it would be $4000 per person to change just one of our flights one way.     Website makes you believe you can select airline seats. Then, after they take your money, they put a note on your confirmation that your seats are not assigned. When you call to complain, they tell you they cannot assign seats; that you have to wait for check-in day.     Yesterday I spent about 20 minutes filling in all the info for five, $274.00, round-trip tickets from Dallas, Texas to Orlando, Florida. We were to leave Dallas about 7:05 am on May 15, 2011 and return from Orlando about 3:00 pm on May 22, 2011.     The "add to calendar" was eliminated without any notice to loyal customers. I have wasted an hour trying to look for this link in the new website design and finally called a customer service rep who had not idea what I was talking about. I am going to have to switch to another company to book all of my very frequent business traveler.     I am very unhappy with the service I was provided through the Orbitz website. I was charged for a ticket that I never recieved. When I sought assistance, I was not helped but instead pushed through the chain of command with each representative trying to make me purchase the ticket again.     Use another agency instead! I called and book over the phone and they can't book my flight and my daugther flight with 2 credit cards. As soon as it changed, I tried booking it for $728 when the promo code and check box for car rental did not pop up, I called customer service immediately.     Beware, Orbitz price assurance is not what it sounds like. If the ticket you book goes down in price you DO NOT get a refund... you only get the refund if another orbitz customer (not any customer) books the same trip, same day, same flight. After waiting on hold and talking to many people at orbitz I understand the policy now but still feel tricked and misled. Orbitz would not honor the price match that they adertise. Apparently I failed to read the find print about someone else “booking a room at the same hotel for less”. Furthermore, a few minutes after seeing a lower price on EXPEDIA, Orbitz started matching the EXPEDIA price; unfortunately for me ORBITZ would not refund the difference.     I booked my cruise through Orbitz.com in May, 2011. The promotions are free excursion or hotel ($70 value). I chose the excursion for our trip, unfortunately the excursion was canceled.     Orbitz charged me the hotel compensation fee the hotel owed Orbitz. I was charged $396 for booking through Orbitz and the hotel only charged $319 according to the invoice. Why should the customer pay the compensation fee, isn't Orbitz supposed to be there for online deals.     I recently attempted to book a flight through Orbitz. I never received the confirmation screen after trying to purchase the flight, nor did I receive a confirmation email.     I purchased a hotel and flight package from LA to Cabo San Lucas several weeks ago. This package has since gone down over $200, plus there is now a free hotel upgrade offered. Orbitz vacation booking misleading

When I made my booking for a vacation trip in Cancun on March 4th on the Orbitz Web site, the option of "all inclusive" was offered and I made sure that I selected it. In the reservation confirmation, the note "EXCLUSIVE! Beach Hotel Promotion" was included which I interpreted as being the indication of the "all inclusive" option. When we arrived at the hotel, we were told that they had not had any agreement with Orbits for "all inclusive" since March 2011. Having re-checked Orbitz Web site for the same travel package on March 24th, the option of "all inclusive" no longer appeared. I called the Orbitz office from the hotel on March 24th and after an hour of wait and transfer, I was told that this was my word against theirs and nothing would be done. My guess is that this misleading information on the Orbitz Web site resulted from a sloppy maintenance of the Web site and they would not recognize their error. This is unacceptable. Beware!!!

Excursion RIP-OFF!!!! I booked my trip through Orbitz instead of going directly through the cruise line because they offered a $70.00 credit on an excursion. I chose an excursion and paid the extra $56.00. Then when I took the trip I realized that this excursion that THEY offered could not be taken because we would not be there yet. It never should have been offered. Worse part......not only did my travel agent through orbitz not help, but neither did orbtz. They pushed me off onto shore excursions (the company orbitz booked through)They denied me twice saying that 6 other people from my boat were there.Lie lie lie!!. I had to contact Carnival and get them to send me an email with the details of the time table that the ship was on to prove I wasn't there. Carnival who I didn't book from helped me when Orbitz did NOTHING. I did get back my $56.00 after all that effort but got screwed on the Orbitz end. FOOL ME ONCE SHAME ON YOU. Carnival who I didn't book from helped me when Orbitz did NOTHING. I did get back my $56.00 after all that effort but got screwed on the Orbitz end. FOOL ME ONCE SHAME ON YOU. FOOL ME TWICE SHAME ON ME.....That's not gonna happen

Excursion RIP-OFF!!!! I booked my trip through Orbitz instead of going directly through the cruise line because they offered a $70.00 credit on an excursion. I chose an excursion and paid the extra $56.00. Then when I took the trip I realized that this excursion that THEY offered could not be taken because we would not be there yet. It never should have been offered. Worse part......not only did my travel agent through orbitz not help, but neither did orbtz. They pushed me off onto shore excursions (the company orbitz booked through)They denied me twice saying that 6 other people from my boat were there.Lie lie lie!!. I had to contact Carnival and get them to send me an email with the details of the time table that the ship was on to prove I wasn't there. Carnival who I didn't book from helped me when Orbitz did NOTHING. I did get back my $56.00 after all that effort but got screwed on the Orbitz end. FOOL ME ONCE SHAME ON YOU. Don't use orbitz to plan ur vocation they will lie to u n tell u how great everything is but when u get to the flight/hotel it's nothing like they say it is (in a bad way of course)

Horrible experience masters in art of fraudulent charges.need class action suit to knock some saense into these
