Canceled our tickets to France

Booked two tickets on March 6,2012 through Orbitz on British Airway to Paris (CDG) leaving April 9,2012 from EWR and returning April 17,2012. Last night(March 28) at 10PM Orbitz called and said British Airways had canceled the flights and Orbitz would refund the charges. This was a LIE. Called British Airways - the flights had not been canceled but Orbitz had canceled our tickets. Called Orbitz - no supervisor available that could even attempt to resolve this scam. In December I booked tickets for my wife and I to travel from JFK to Sofia, Bulgaria with a week stay-over in Rome. I specifically asked for the best itinerary with the least connections. The rep booked us on a JFk - Rome (direct), which was perfect. Then the rep booked us on a Rome - Frankfurt - Sofia flight. Not idea, but I was specifically told this was "our only option". Fine. I am very unhappy with the service I was provided through the Orbitz website. I was charged for a ticket that I never recieved. When I sought assistance, I was not helped but instead pushed through the chain of command with each representative trying to make me purchase the ticket again. I was finally told that the account would be recredited my money within 3 to 10 days, but now I am left with no money to make another purchase until the money is reimbursed to my account and no guarantee that the ticket will be at the same price when I attempt to rebook the flight. Would like "compensation fee" refunded

Orbitz charged me the hotel compensation fee the hotel owed Orbitz. I was charged $396 for booking through Orbitz and the hotel only charged $319 according to the invoice. Why should the customer pay the compensation fee, isn't Orbitz supposed to be there for online deals. I am not happy with the response I got from Lauren Supervisor of Orbitz Worldwide. He said, "I understand you want to book a new flight using the credit from a cancelled trip. However, we are not in the position to extend the validity of the credit" What does that mean?? Just say you do not honor your word. I spent $2,000 for tickets on Orbitz and will NEVER use them again. Requested seats - traveling with a 12 year old. NO SEATS and after a phone request and an HOUR on hold, I still did not have any guarantee of seats and was read a stupid script. DO THEY THINK WE'RE IDIOTS?
