Useless Low Fare Guarantee - Low Fare Guarantee

Booked roundtrip flights from SFO to Vegas for a little under $200. Checked the same flights on Virgin America's website and found the price had dropped by $20. Submitted a claim to Orbitz for their Low Fare Guarantee, but their legal font says claims have to be made by midnight the same day the flight is booked (GMT time). What's the point in booking with Orbitz then? I'd rather book a flight directly with JetBlue or Southwest, where I'm not penalized for booking early and finding a lower fare. My friend who's on the same flight booked through Virgin America initially, and called in. She received a voucher for the difference that's good until 2015 (no $75) change fee. Since I booked with Orbitz, Virgin America isn't able to touch the ticket and honor any prices.

Very unhappy with Orbitz and will never book anything with them again. Book directly with an airline that doesn't charge change fees. Next time I'll be researching travel booking sites before booking
