You cannot reserve your seats through Orbitz


On July 25, 2011, we purchased two tickets for the Alaska flight 650 from PDX to PHX on September 25, 2011 (Orbitz record locator AP110101NS59S2GZ). At that time, plenty of seats were available to choose from, and we chose two seats in the middle of the plane, including an isle (I am a tall person). Orbitz never told us that our request for seats was not approved, and Alaska put us on the very last row and did not give us an isle. In addition to being near the toilet, the last-row seats do not recline, which makes them inconvenient for a tall person. If we were to purchase our tickets directly through Alaska, we could have chosen our seats in advance. This was not the case with Orbitz – even though we bought our tickets two months in advance and believed we had reasonably convenient seats, we ended up having the most inconvenient seats. If having certain seats is important for you, you should consider booking directly through airlines. We will not be buying through Orbitz again.
