Must use the whole flight that was booked or the rest of the flight will be cancelled.

After booking a flight I discovered that my son would have a 12 hour layover in Seattle for a connecting flight to Bellingham,WA. I live a three hour drive to Seattle and wanted to just drive there to pick him up. He was told that if he didn't make the connecting flight to Bellingham that it would cancel his return flight. I will never use Orbitz or US Airways again. The airlines industry is getting more controlling in a dictatorial way every day. I vote with the use of my money.
